I will be having "fun" next week.

Young "vultures" will be returning to the nest for a "refresher".

It starts next Tuesday.

"New" vulture, Eric Thomas (University South Alabama and Orange Mass) will be flying in (really is flying in Early Tuesday morning from Alabama).

This past summer eic pitched for the Torington Twisters of the NECBL.

Baseballamerica currently ranks Eric #54 on the top 100 prospect list.

Eric is another "late bloomer".

Threw low-mid 80's high school senior year.

Was not drafted, but the Braves offered him a free agent contract (6'7", 200# "project).

Decided to go to University of New Have (perennial Div 2 baseball power, legendary caoch "Porky Vierra") because he liked the pitching coach (who I know) and thought he could help him.

When Eric got to UNH, pitching coach was gone ("philosophical" differences) and the replacement (yoiung single guy) was more interested in the helping the "co-eds" than his pitching staff.

Eric basically sat on the bench (mechanics and control issues).

Tranferred to a Briarcliff College in NY (a very good Junior College Baseball program).

After his first two "so-so" spring starts (their southern trip), Eric pitched 9 very good games and put himself on the ML propect map.

Yankees, Reds to name two teams that I know of flew Eric in for "look see's".

Yankees wantd to draft Eric in 6-7th round if Eric (his agent) would sign for "less money" than going rate for that round.

Ended up being drafted by Tigers in 11th round (Eric's "advisor" is the same person who represents Randy Johnson among others).

Eric chose to play another year of college ball (baseball scholarship University South Alabama).

Eric called me right after scout day a couple of weeks ago and said his first pitch was gunned (Stalker) at 95 MPH.

And no fastball under 93 MPH in his one inning before about 20 scouts.

Seems word has "gotten out" that Eric's velocity keeps increasing.

His "advisor" is hearing "rumors" that Eric is already being slotted as a first rounder in June's ML Draft.

And his advisior is flying in to meet with Eric the day after he visits CT.

Stay tuned!

This yound man is certainly has a "high cieling".

Here's a clip (Real Player) from today that is typical of what we did.

And requires a high cieling (I'm 6'1" tall).

Paul:
Wow! Thanks for the Thanksgiving gift! I am sure you totally underestimate the teaching power in those two very short clips for vultures-in-training. I've watched them several times already and picked up ideas each time I watched them. You really must make a complete teaching video. Thanks again for sharing.

Richard, "I" DO realize the value of the clips (info contained within).

What I think "I" DO "overestimate" is the ability of most here to SEE (understand) the value contained "there in".

Either that or most are too spoiled to acknowledge what I do here.

I do know that there are a few here who are able to appreciate and can understand what is being presented.

And fewer yet appreciate that what I am searching for is the F = M x A or E = M x C x C of pitching and hitting.

Richard, thank you for your kind words of support.

I know YOU do appreciate what I do here and are willing to take the time and effort to tell me so.

And YOU will be the one of the first (and only?) to get THE BIG SURPRISE!?!

If you are not an Einstein or more appropriately Randy Johnson or Roger Clemens, an apple for the teacher may just mean the difference between passing and failing or again, more appropriately, learning enough to make the difference between an 83 MPH fastball vs a 91 MPH fastball.

Just had the time to pay these clips. As Yogi says, it was Déjà vu all over again.

To any who have not had the pleasure of working with Paul in person these two short clips represent but a very small portion of what Paul discusses in his sessions. Consider the time these take and then think about having a couple of hours (or more!) of this insightful analysis.

I am certainly no Einstein and can not explain "F = M x A or E = M x C x C" . I am not sure I want or need to know. What I do want to know, however, is how to get my son to be a better pitcher / hitter. Fortuneatly, I have found a "translator" to bring this science to a language and image I understand. My "vision" is much clearer now that I have met Paul and have access to this site.

Forgive me for one last Yogiism - you can see a lot more when you look.
There's lots in these two clips to hear and watch. After reviewing a couple of times I went back to the original clip of Eric and "saw" things clearer than I did before.

Paul - I can't wait to see what you've got up your sleeve.
From these clips it is obvious that this type of video instruction can be a very efficient substitute in both time and money for the more personalized yet more costly (in terms of time and money) on site instruction.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I feel like I did years ago at great concerts.

It's the end of the show and I'd have my lighter held up and I'm yelling "MORE!"

Say my friend!

Funny thing just happened on the way to the forum…

Hope you have a rested and nice Turkey Day!

Har-man just came home and HAD to go out back and throw (100% now, go figure). He started out with his first warm up drill, facing forward, feet square to me, turning at the waist 90 deg to me, elbows up to almost pinch, and then he would throw, only to throw like Clemens or Prior, not like he pitches. I caught it right away and had to explain why he shouldn’t warm up that way. Funny seeing your 3rd video just now. He’s going to, well, flip when he sees it, just too weird!

Say, where have I heard “throw with your elbow” before? LOL

The rest of you guy’s are in for a real treat.

Later,

Steve-
