Since the inception
of this web site I have made many friends. Parents, coaches, and
players who were not afraid to ask why. And did not settle for the
standard "because". My sometimes "irreverent approach"
has ruffled more than a few "feathers" because I have
not been afraid to "rock the boat" by taking on the "status
quo".
The
first and foremost purpose of this web site is to show what's in
my "my snake oil". To educate you so that you can then
compare "my snake oil" with everyone else's and make your
decision.
This
week will mark the "second" beginning of what I believe
to be "The Best Baseball Training Page On The Web". Over
the next two weeks there will be many new additions to the SETPRO
web site..
As usual what I
want to do far out strips what I am capable of doing.
There
are many hundreds of you who have waited very patiently for SETPRO's
SMART POWER REPORT.
I have
always viewed the web as the most effective tool for presenting
SETPRO's information. And my first priority for the "new"
web site is and will be to get a web version of our SMART POWER
REPORT that "rewards" to all those who have waited so
patiently. By reward, I mean presents the most complete information
of what SETPRO training can do for your you.
I will
start with the hitters and pitchers training sections. And I will
include training programs at no charge to get you ready for the
Spring Season. This is the same information that "other experts"
are selling.
My
reason for doing this is because I believe the information that
these 'experts" are selling is nothing more than repackaging
and "re-marking" of either very basic information. Or
information that is being "touted" as the "newest
thinking" in training which in reality is nothing more than
"info-mercial" hype.
The
Public Forums have been closed for almost a year and I will reopen
them in the very near future. I have a years worth of new info about
hitting and pitching
I have
always tried to take a totally objective view of the hitting and
pitching process. Including using all of the research that I can
find on physiology and biomechanics.
I have
spent the past year concentrating on trying to understand how the
body adapts and responds to training stimulus.
As
part of that efforts I have had the good fortune to communicate
with Dr. Mel Siff, known world wide for his scientific approach
to athletic training.
I first
discovered Dr. Siff on the Internet. And subsequently learned much
about his knowledge and understanding of biomechanics and physiology
through his book SUPERTRAINING which is now in it's fifth edition.
And
most recently his latest book "FACTS AND FALLACIES OF FITNESS".
I am
particularly happy and excited to have the support of Dr. Mel Siff.
And will "impose" upon him when ever possible for his
commentary and analysis of what is presented here.
Dr
Siff's SUPERTRAINING FORUM is a "gold mine" of training
information and ideas. And I hope to use this information to help
us all understand what it takes to maximize a players baseball capabilities.
Please email your comments and suggestions.
If
I don't meet your needs, then there is no reason to have this web
site.
Again,
thank you for your patience and I hope you will enjoy your visits.
And
when all is said and done, the real reward of what I do here is
receiving emails like the one from Marcelo.
As
"always", please stay tuned.
Sincerely
Paul
Nyman
